Chaperones
It is practice policy that intimate examinations should be carried out, if possible, with a chaperone present. This will normally be a nurse or another member of staff depending on availability. In cases where a chaperone is not available, a new appointment might have to be arranged
Health Visitors
Everyone with a new baby or child under 5 years old are able to use the service. You can contact the service direct or you can be referred by a GP or healthcare professional. Our Heath visitors are located at Westcliffe House, Westcliffe Gardens, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1FH Tel: 01303 858922
District Nurses
A team of District Nurses provides nursing care for practice patients who are confined to their homes. They also offer advice and support to their carers.
Midwife
The Community Midwife is the lead professional for women with normal pregnancies. She will provide support and care to all women from pre-conception to 28 days after the baby is born.
To register with the midwife the referral system is now done electronically through East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust website. Once we have received your referral a midwife will contact you within 2 weeks to arrange an initial pre – booking appointment at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Medical Students
From time to time student doctors come to the practice to learn about this area of medicine. However, if you would prefer to see the doctor without a student present please inform the receptionist.
