Getting Your Test Results

When you get tests done, it takes some time to receive the results. It usually takes about a week for blood or urine samples to be processed. For tests like swabs, X-rays, and ultrasounds, it might take up to two weeks. And for smear tests, it can take up to 8 weeks, and the hospital will send you the results directly.

Our reception staff can’t explain what the results mean. So, it’s up to you to check them and schedule a follow-up appointment with your doctor if needed.

We take your privacy seriously. We only share your results with you, unless you’ve permitted us to share them with someone else, or if you’re unable to understand them yourself.

Once a doctor has looked at your results, you can see them:

  • in your NHS account (on the NHS website or NHS App)
  • in your Patient Access account
  • by calling us at 01303 851241  between 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Or you can come in person and we’ll tell you the results.
